Mission Dolores Academy is an independent Catholic 501(c)(3) non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors. Comprised of many of San Francisco's top business, civic, and religious leaders.
Dear MDA families and friends –
I AM MDA! That’s our credo at the school. It underscores who we are, what we do and who we serve. But it is not just a credo for our students and their parents/guardians. It is how our faculty and staff see themselves and, importantly, the same is true of our Board.
The MDA Board of Directors sees itself in service to this community. We are an eclectic group of people from many walks of life. Practitioners of faith. We have one common principle that bonds us together which is the belief in MDA and dedication to seeing it serve the community for many years to come.
In the vernacular of school administration, we are a “working” Board. Our Board members are engaged in specific areas supporting the school across every dimension of need. They are here to make a difference in the school and the lives of our students and their families. After more than a decade building and growing MDA into a thriving school where values and academic excellence are celebrated and promoted, we have more to do in the future. That future is bright for MDA as we bring even more focus on wellness, for example, as a core competency the school will continue to enhance.The school completed its five-year Strategic Plan in December 2023 and has now
moved into implementation mode across multiple areas, including areas like Student Life/Wellness, Academics, Enrollment and others. During that process, we benefited from input from many teachers, parents, alumni as well as dozens of other constituents with knowledge of and dedication to our Mission. Working closely with our capable school professionals, we are already seeing the positive
