High School Results are in!

May 4, 2016

It’s that exciting time of year when our 8th Grade students find out which high school they have been accepted to. After months of hard work researching schools and scholarships, campus visits, preparing applications, and attending preparatory summer programs, our students finally received the news on their future education. And it was great news!

We are very proud to announce that our 8th Grade students have been accepted into some of the best college preparatory schools in the Bay Area:

Archbishop Riordan – 8

City Arts & Technology – 6

Convent of the Sacred Heart – 2

Immaculate Conception Academy – 7

Lick Wilmerding – 1

Lowell – 2

Mercy High School – 2

Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep – 7

Saint Ignatius College Prep – 5

The Urban School – 1

University High – 1

Most of our students received offers from multiple schools, and had some difficult decisions to make regarding their ultimate choice of high school. 2016 Student Council President Jadelynn will be leaving us for University High after being accepted into an impressive five schools, on full or partial scholarships.

Jadelynn describes the process as “stressful and a learning experience,” but the stress was obviously worth it as she prepares to attend her top choice school. Jadelynn says, “I am very excited to go to UHS because it was my top choice, and I feel like I will feel comfortable and welcome in the school community. I received a scholarship, and most of my time and effort during the high school process was spent on UHS.” In the future, Jadelynn hopes to attend a four year college program to become a forensic scientist.

Joseph has decided to attend St. Ignatius College Preparatory. He says, “I am looking forward to [attending] this school because I have never been in a huge campus, and I will finally feel how it is at a big school. I am also looking forward to being prepared for college because I know that I will get a great education by going there.” After St.Ignatius, Joseph hopes to progress to college to study to be an architectural draftsman.

Fernando is excited to join his two sisters at Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep. Fernando explains, “I have been there many times and went there for a year of summer camp. Both my sisters go there and I’ve heard lots of good things about the school.” Fernando does not know yet what his plans beyond high school are, but he is looking forward to attending college.

7th & 8th Grade Teachers Mike Adkins and Michelle Escobar supported and guided our students through the complex application process. “We are always incredibly proud of our students and this year is not exception! Our students will be attending many of San Francisco's best high schools where we know they will be academically prepared to achieve.” says Ms. Escobar.  “All of our students are on the road to excellence and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for them!” added Mr. Adkins.
