Happy Valentine's Day from MDA!

February 16, 2017

We had so much fun this year on Valentine’s Day! Here are some highlights from the day. For more photos head to our Facebook page

Kindergarten Valentine Math

Zekarias hard at work

What makes Math more fun? Math with conversation hearts! Our Kindergarten incorporated these fun candies into their morning Math lesson to help with their counting practice. We can neither confirm nor deny how many conversation hearts were consumed during the counting process!

Valentine Olympics!

Catch the marshmallow!

More conversation hearts! And marshmallows! Students from Kindergarten, First and Second Grades formed teams for some afternoon games such as catch the marshmallows, and relay races. A great way to develop teamwork and get in some extra physical education. Our kids had a blast!

Candy Gram Sale

Our Eighth Grade students were busy fundraising for their class through their Candy Gram Sale. For just $1, students could buy a candy gram to be sent to a classmate on Valentine’s Day. Many sweet treats were delivered throughout the school!

Messages of Love

Several of our classes put pen to paper and wrote about the people and the things that they love. First Grade even wrote the things they love about MDA!

First Grade's messages about MDA
Third Grade wrote messages about family and friends

Valentine’s Gifts for Everyone

A big thank you to one of MDA’s friends and supporters Heidi Cortese who sent our students Valentine’s chocolates and a plushie.
