Mission Dolores Academy | The education of tomorrow rooted in tradition.
Catholic Schools Week
January 27 - February 2, 2019
Catholic Schools Week is an important time at Mission Dolores Academy. Led by our Director of Religious Studies, Sister Ann Providence and our active Student Council an interesting program of activities is organized each year to celebrate Catholic education.
The theme this year is Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.
The same week it is also The Great Kindness Challenge which challenges us all to create a culture of kindness in our school communities.
During the school week our Student Council has organized a host of activities for all Grades to participate in.
This week’s activities will include:
Monday: Celebrating Our Community
Rosary making in each class
Tuesday: Celebrating Our Students
The Hand Cramp Activity: students will write anonymous notes of kindness to one another.
Wednesday: Celebrating our Families
Students will design and create cards for our MDA Spirit Families.
Thursday: Celebrating Vocations
Students will be researching saints that correlate with occupations that they are interested in and make a poster to display.
Friday: Celebrating our Faculty, Staff, and Volunteers
Students will repeat the Hand Cramp Activity (see Tuesday) for each staff member. It is also nation day, so all students are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue to celebrate our nation.
